Celebrating The Life of Colin, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Sometimes Antique Dealer(!).

Anyone who ever met Colin would struggle to disagree that he was quite the character. His positivity, energy, wit and general love of talking (or joking) with anyone he came across was second to none. He loved buying antiques - a lot - but he loved his family more and was a doting husband to Jean, and father to James, throughout his life. As a family they travelled extensively and spent as much time together as a family unit as possible, a life of passion fulfilled without regret.

Although he is no longer in this realm, I know he is never far away from his sanctuary in Guestling, away from the hustle of the antiques market and the wider world. It is fitting throughout his illness he was at home surrounded by his family, spending the bulk of his final months with his grandson Arthur. He fought valiantly against an illness with no cure but kept his usual humour and positivity to the very end. Bravery like I have never seen. We will ensure we teach Arthur of his grandad's bravery and kindness, as well as his irrepressible humour and energy. Although Colin is gone, he will never be forgotten and we will continue to celebrate his life and the legacy he leaves behind.

We have chosen to suggest donations, instead of flowers, to two very important charities. St Michael's Hospice in Hastings have provided decades of support for the terminally ill and provided continued support to Colin, helping keep him at home as he wished. The Brain Tumour Charity provide the research to help find a cure for one of the most difficult types of cancer to beat and help give more people time with the people they love.
